Joseph Edward Stramel Sr., 75 years old, passed away Friday night, March 2, 1951, at Providence Hospital after a 19-month illness. Joseph was born in Russia and arrived in the United States with his parents at the age of one year. He had been a resident of Greater Kansas City for 33 years.


In 1939 he retired after 15 years as a cabinet maker for the Koch Refrigerator Company. Mr. Stramel made his home at Old Reidy Road in Wyandotte County.


He was survived by his son, Joseph Stramel Jr., of the home, and four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Van Hooser of Santa Cruz, Mrs. Virginia Rome of 720 Sandusky, Mrs. Catherine Rome of Beaver, Kas., and Mrs. Lillian Engel of 718 Sandusky.


The Rosary was prayed at the Reising Chapel. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where he was a member.
