Hays -- Joseph George Beyer, age 67, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, in Hays. He was born March 19, 1937, in Hays to Raymond and Lillian (O'Leary) Beyer.

He married Carol Ruder Sept. 4, 1961, in Hays.

He was lifelong area resident and retired sales manager for Northwestern Office Suppliers. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Robert Beyer and wife Cindy, Milroy, Pa.; two daughters, Pamela Jones and husband, Lance, Humble, Texas, Laurie Charbonneau and husband Dennis, Clay Center; three brothers, Ray Beyer, Wichita, Eugene Beyer, Lenexa, and Father Greg Beyer, Victoria; two sisters, Marge Feldt, Grinnell, and Tillie Kisner, Great Bend; and six grandchildren, Brandon and Brett Charbonneau, Kalaya, Ky and Shane Beyer and Ryan Jones.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Hubie, Virgel, Wilfred and Richard.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fathers Gilmary Tallman and Greg Beyer officiating; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery with graveside military honors by the Hays VFW. A parish prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hays Medical Center.
