Linnie Yvonne Rattan, 79, joined her heavenly Father on Sunday, March 15, 2015, after a brief illness. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Arlington. Interment: 11 a.m. Monday in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Arlington Chapel. Yvonne was the sixth child born to Lee and Minnie Thetford, in Purmela. Yvonne met the love of her life 63 years ago. She saw Fred's picture in his Army uniform in the local newspaper. She got his sister to bring him to the church picnic at Hay Valley Baptist Church in Gatesville. Yvonne married Fred Rattan on Sept. 5, 1954. Yvonne was a 60-year member of First Baptist Arlington. She taught pre-school Sunday school for 30 years. She enjoyed working with internationals at Mission Arlington. She worked in the church library for many years. Yvonne loved anything that had a butterfly on it. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Raymond, Edwin and S.C Thetford; two sisters, Minnie Thetford and Avis Blum; in-laws, Mamie and Bill Boatman, Judy and Jimmy Forrester, Shirley and Robert Rattan; nephew, James Thetford; and niece, Randa Hamlin. Survivors: Her husband of 60 years, Fred Rattan; four children, Linda and Stan Knowles, Fred and Donna Rattan, Wanda Rattan, and Paul Rattan; four grandsons, Chris and Melissa Knowles, Adam and Debjani Knowles, Jeremy Rattan and Justin Rattan; two great-granddaughters, Avery and Hannah Knowles; brother, Randall and Priscella Thetford; two nephews she loved dearly, Dale and Pam Thetford and Floyd Thetford; in-laws, Sam and Dayna Rattan, Virginia Mickey Bourassa, Clark Rattan, Johnnye Rattan; and many other family members and friends.
