She was born May 8, 1925, in Muscatine County, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Hazel (Timmsen) Hintze. On January 6, 1945, she married Reldo H. Kroeger in Davenport. He preceded her in death January 28, 1997. Mrs. Kroeger had been employed by Riefe's Restaurant, retiring in 1987. Prior to that, she and her husband farmed for 26 years in Scott County. She was a 50-year charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge, where she also served as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Ladies Circle, as well as being a 50-year member of Eldridge Pythian Sisters Temple # 230. Other memberships included Scott County Farm Bureau Women, Golden Wedding Anniversary Club, Liedertaufel, and Eldridge Merchants Bowling League, and a 60-year member of the "500" Card Club. A volunteer for 10 years at Edward White Elementary School, Mrs. Kroeger also enjoyed playing piano, bowling, camping, fishing, dancing and attending Stockton school reunions. Surviving are children and spouses, Ron and Paula Kroeger, Pat and Bill Oster, Dennis and Deb Kroeger, and Deb and Ray Kraklio; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Melvin Hintze, Delmar Hintze and his wife Angie, and Jackie Hintze and his wife Millie; and a sister, Janice Wise. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Kroeger, and her twin sister, Lorraine Kroeger.
