Otto George Moellmann, 92, of Cole Camp, died Friday, February 3, 2012, at Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp. He was born on March 2, 1919, south of Cole Camp, Missouri, near Balltown on the family farm a son of William F. and Mary (Gerlt) Moellmann.

On March 5, 1919, he was baptized at his home by Pastor Listmann. When he was a child, the family moved to a farm north of town. He was confirmed on July 23, 1933, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cole Camp by Pastor H. Renz. In 1937, he graduated from Cole Camp High School, where he played basketball and baseball, and was president of his senior class. After graduating high school, he continued to play sports for the town leagues. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II.

On May 27, 1942, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, he was united in marriage to Lorene Balke by Pastor H. Renz, who preceded him in death on March 19, 1997. After he returned from the war, he attended The College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, graduating in 1947. He worked as a painter and installed insulation before moving back to Cole Camp to work the family farm. He was a life-long member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cole Camp.

He is survived by one daughter, Dixie Bruns and her husband Ronald of Cole Camp; two sons, Dennis Moellmann and his wife Claudia of Cole Camp and David Moellmann and his wife Diana of Cole Camp; one son-in-law, Roger Vogler of Smithton; ten grandchildren, Jeana Baalman, Janelle Strathman, Jason Bruns, Matthew Moellmann, Melody Moore, Jacob Wiemann, Rick Brandt, Fawn Fajen,. Nick Moellmann, and Jacob Moellmann; twenty great-grandchildren, Lauren, Landon, Garrett, Grady, Joshua, Molly, Madison, Emma, Mark, Cooper, Dakota, Payton, Ryan, Caitlyn, Evan, Ian, Madelin, Josie, Lilly, and Maxwell; and one niece, Leatrice Wischmeier.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Moellmann, his daughter, Deborah Vogler, and one sister, Lillie Koenke.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, with Pastor Jody Rice officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Oaks Indian Mission, Salvation Army, or donor's choice of charity in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
