Camile Jennie Bevilacqua, age 93, of Beaumont, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2006, at her home. Aunt Camile was born in Greenwood, Mississippi June 29, 1912. She lived in Port Arthur, Texas, for a short time in Baltimore, Maryland and has resided in Beaumont, Texas since 1928. She was a faithful member of Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church. She was co-owner of C&C Grocery store and worked with her brother Joe "Professor" and Vincent "Spike" Bevilacqua, sister Concetta "Connie" Citrano and Margaret "Maggie" Bonura in the grocery business for many years and retired in 1985. She was a lifetime homemaker as well. Her personal pleasure was cooking for her family and friends, especially holiday celebrations and Sunday dinner at her table. Her passion was her faith in God and tireless desire to pray for the well being of family and friends when in need. She was a mother to all, full of love, kindness and compassion. She raised four brothers, two sisters and her many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted and loyal daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. She was affectionately addressed by many nicknames and will always be remembered as "Big-Sis", "Saint Camile", "Camalene" and Aunt Camile. She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Bonura and Concetta Citrano; and brother, Sam Bevilacqua Jr. and his wife Pat Bevilacqua, all of Beaumont, Texas; and her sister - in -law, Dorothy Bevilacqua, of Groves, Texas; thirteen nieces and nephews; twenty-three great nieces and nephews; and ten great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore "Sam" Bevilacqua and Antonina "Lena" Messina Bevilacqua, brothers Joe Bevilacqua, Charlie Bevilacqua and Vincent Bevilacqua and her great niece Alicia Christine Bonura. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Monday evening at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont, Texas 77705. The family wishes a sincere thank you for the care given to Aunt Camile by Quality Care Givers, the nurses of Odyssey Health Care and her special neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Louis Semien.
