Frederike was born to August Ewald and Frederike Henriette Schoenbeck in 1861. It was recorded in Boizenburg, Templin, Brandenburg, Prussia. Her father was a sheepherder. Unfortunately her mother died one month after her birth. Her father then married Dorothea W Magnus in Oct of 1862. Dorothea then raised Frederike and her older brother August born in Dec of 1857 as her own. August and Dorothea went on to have 11 more children.

The family immigrated to Crediton Canada in 1882. Her six year old brother died aboard the ship. Her brother August and sister Wilhelmine Brown stayed in Canada while the rest of the family moved to Michigan. Sister Anne Glombitza moved to Pennsylvania. I believe Frederike met the twice widowed Adam George Klump in Canada. They married in 1885 and moved to Middleville Michigan.
