Barbara F. Clark, Dec. 31, 1940 Feb. 17, 2011, resident of Pleasant Hill, passed away on February 17, 2011 surrounded by her children following a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She is also survived by her grandchildren Katie, Evan, Carter, Ryan, Nic, Lindsey, Will and James; her mother Ursula Freese; and her brother Hinrich Freese, both of Hamburg, Germany. She was predeceased by her father Johann Heinrich Freese and her sister Sybille Roewer. Barbara was born and raised in Germany and moved to the United States in 1963. While raising her children she started attending college, eventually graduating with a BA and MBA, both with highest honors. She worked as an accountant with PG&E for nearly 20 years, and had recently retired. Barbara touched the life of everyone she met. She was incredibly caring and her kindness knew no bounds. She treasured the countless hours she spent with her grandchildren, as they did with her. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barbara's name to the Women's Cancer Resource Center or STAND!
