Charles D. Winders 88 of Spencer passed away Friday, November 3, 2006 at the Bloomington Hospital. He was born April 22,1918 in Owen County to Clayton and Nellie (Hassler) Winders. He was owner and operator of Winders Stone Quarry and a member of the Spencer Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon and an elder. Charlie is survived by his daughters Beverly Shumaker of Plainfield, Bonnie (Larry) Frank, Krystal (Jerry) McIntosh, both of Spencer, Judy Bowman of Indianapolis, sister Carol Herrington of Spencer, thirteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Ball) in 2002, an infant daughter Sherry Ann Winders, brother Gale Winders and two sisters Betty Weidner and Leora Zikes. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday November 8, 2006 at the Spencer Presbyterian Church with Rev. Eric Erickson officiating.Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
