MINDEN — Hilda L. Bunger, 94, of Hildreth died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Kearney County Health Services in Minden.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth with the Revs. Patti and Steve Byrne officiating. Burial will be at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery south of Hildreth. Jelden-Craig Funeral Home in Hildreth
is in charge of the arrangements.
Hilda was born on May 10, 1920, on a family farm two miles southwest of Macon to Henry and Minnie (Saathoff) Tobiassen. Six children were born to this marriage. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Hilda graduated from eighth grade from Rural School District 67 two miles south of Macon in 1933. She then helped with the work on the family farm and helped with housework for families around the Macon and Franklin areas.
On Jan. 4, 1942, she married Willis Bunger at Zion Lutheran Church west of Macon. They made their home on a farm seven miles southeast of Hildreth. They were blessed with three children, Myra, William “Bill” and Lee. Willis passed away in 1979.
In 2011, Hilda moved to Bethany Home in Minden. Hilda enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family. She loved spending time with her family and playing cards. Hilda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth.
Survivors include her son, William “Bill” Bunger and his wife, Kris, of Upland; daughter-in-law, Diana Bunger of Upland; four grandchildren, Andy Bunger and wife Lanie, Nick Bunger and wife Tonya, Ben Bunger and wife Kinzy, and Melissa Haack and husband Nick; 11 great-grandchildren, Chase, Cara and Craig Bunger, Eldon, Isaac, Olivia, Augustus and Lexi Haack and Katlyn, Camryn and Ryder Bunger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis; daughter, Myra Sieber; son, Lee Bunger; granddaughter-in-law, Melinda Bunger; two brothers; and three sisters.
