Michael D. Dombrowski, of Onaway, formerly of Saginaw, passed away at the age of 63 years 0 months and 9 days at home on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. The son of John D. and Margaret M. (Werschky) Dombrowski, Mike was born on April 12, 1952, in Saginaw. He married Annette (Spruth) Ellis in Rogers City on July 11, 2002, and they made their home in Onaway.

Mike worked in foundry service and repair for General Motors at Saginaw's Malleable Iron.

A longtime visitor to the Onaway area, Mike spent many weekends and vacations enjoying the outdoors, hunting, and fishing in the area. Eventually he bought a place of his own and upon his retirement from General Motors in 2003 moved permanently to Onaway. An avid sportsman and outdoor enthusiast, Mike loved deer hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time planting fruit trees and pine trees to improve the habitat and hunting on his property.

Mike also loved his tractor and farm equipment and enjoyed planting food crops for the deer and wildlife. A nature lover with reverence for all God's creatures, Mike enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. The chickadees would eat from Mike's hand and the hummingbirds would feed and fly around him as he held the feeder. Not only did Mike take great pride in his property, but in his home as well. He enjoyed woodworking, home improvement projects, and could fix just about anything.

A take charge kind of guy who always let people know where they stood with him, Mike also was quiet and humble. He was a family man with great love for his children and grandchildren.
