JULIA (MACRI) ALFEARIE
Julia "Julie" Alfearie, a longtime restaurant cashier, died in her Niagara falls home Friday (April 12, 2002). She was 77.
Born Julia Macri, she was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
She worked for 33 years as a cashier at the former Carrols Restaurant on Main Street, which later became Burger King, and was recognized for being the longest-working employee of both Carrols and Burger King.
Mrs. Alfearie was a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters Cataract Lodge No. 240 and was a yearly participant in the East Side Reunion in Niagara Falls.
She enjoyed bingo and traveling.
Her husband, Harry, died in 1978.
She is survived by three daughters, Rina Ligamarri and Joette Shamrock, both of Lewiston, and Jo Anne DeFazio of Las Vegas; a son, Michael of Niagara Falls; two sisters, Adeline Arone and Rose Serge, both of Niagara Falls; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1413 Pine Ave., following prayers at 10 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
