He later married Catharine Shelley Horst (Oct 9 1818-Aug 29 1891). She is believed to be the daughter of Peter Horst (April 15 1787-Aug 25 1876) and Catherine Shelly Horst (Feb 2 1790-July 28 1823). Peter was a farmer. Catharine and Peter were the parents of the following known children:
