Mary Frances Aplas, age 98 of Wooster and former Galion resident passed away April 29, 2015 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster. She was born September 20, 1916 in Sterling, Colorado, the daughter of Homer and Elva (Kelly) Kelly. On August 1, 1943 Mary married Robert Aplas in Brownwood, Texas and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2001. Mary was 1934 graduate of Galion High School and member of the former First United Methodist Church, now Christ United Methodist Church in Galion. She worked as a beautician. Mary was a life member of the AMVETS Polk Township Post 1979 auxiliary, American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4329 auxiliary all of Galion. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Sue & David Fleiner of Bluffton, SC; her daughter-in-law, Suellen Aplas of Wooster; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a special friend Ron Hedges of Galion. She is preceded in death by her husband, son, William Charles "Bill" Aplas; her three brothers, Rex, Ralph and Clyde Kelly and her two sisters, Faye Lauer and Wilma Beyer. There will be no visitation or memorial service at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
