Joyce Meyer Stroh, a long time resident of Jackson and Pearl, Mississippi, died on May 5, 2015. Joyce was born on November 20, 1929 on the Meyer family farm in Hooper, Nebraska, to Anna Osterloh Meyer and Arthur C. Meyer, and attended school in Scribner. She graduated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska with a business degree, where she met her husband, Jack Stroh. They were married on June 16, 1951, in Hooper, Nebraska. Jack's work as an insurance attorney carried them to Omaha, Kansas City, MO and then south to New Orleans and Jackson, where they reared their two children, Jeff and Jana.

Mrs. Stroh is preceded in death by her husband Jack Stroh. She is survived by her son, Jeff Stroh, of Pearl, Mississippi and her daughter Jana Stroh Burnham (Jon) of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren Nathan Stroh (Kim), Justin Stroh (Rachel), Jennifer Burnham, Jackson Burnham; five great grandchildren: Owen Stroh, Blake Stroh, Taylor Stroh, Caroline Stroh, and Carson Stroh; eight nieces and nephews and their families.

Mrs. Stroh retired after 25 years as an Executive Secretary at Mississippi Educational Television where she worked from 1970-1995. She was a devoted and active Lutheran and died a member of Nativity Lutheran Church in Brandon, Mississippi.

Joyce was a generous, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, and traveling with good friends. She was favorably known as a Christian woman of sterling qualities who knew no bounds in assisting where her services could be used.

Funeral services for Joyce Mary Ann Meyer Stroh will be on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hooper, Nebraska, where she was baptized, confirmed and married.
