Son of Cornelius and Gretchen Cornelius. He emigrated with his parents, arriving 11 Mar 1887. He married Maggie Conrad in Castleton on 15 Feb 1900. In 1910, they lived in Penn, Stark Co, IL with children: Albert (1900), Diederich (1903), Otto (1905), and William (1907), and Margaret (1909). After Maggie's death, he married Eva Jane Gray Lloyd in 1935. He was a farmer.
