Monika, the beloved wife and best friend of Richard, went home to meet our Lord and Savior and be reunited with her son, Steven.
Monika was born Jan. 10, 1959, in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late William McClanahan and Ann Braun Eaton of Howland.
She was a 1977 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was a dedicated wife and homemaker.
Monika touched many lives, most especially her husband's. Her beauty radiated through her smile and her love for those she cared about could not be challenged. Monika greatly enjoyed helping others and was always there for everyone. She had a passion for life and lived life to the fullest.
Her greatest joys were spending time with her family, and riding her Harley-Davidson with her husband and their friends, the S.O.B.'s (Sorry Old Bikers).
Richard says, "Although my heart is broken and my soul is shattered, Monika will continue to live through me and all of you each time we smile. She just had that way. Until I see you again, dance in the sky, my love."
Monika is survived by her husband of nearly 27 years, Richard J. Barnhart, whom she married July 9, 1988; her mother, Ann Eaton; a brother, John Eaton; and a sister, Sue Clark, all of Howland; her stepchildren, Michael (Paige) Barnhart of Erie, Pa., and Jennifer (Randy) Edwards of Warren; her grandchildren, Hanna Edwards, Blain Edwards, Izzabella Barnhart and Adelaide Barnhart; and her baby, Gizmo. Many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews and numerous friends also survive.
Monika was preceded in death by her father, William McClanahan, who was killed just after she was born; her stepdad, Neal Eaton; her son, Steven Barnhart; her in-laws, George and Shirley Barnhart; and her brothers-in-law, Charles and William Barnhart and George Barnhart Jr.
Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
