Robert H. Kleber, 92, of Sioux City, formerly of Jefferson, died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Harvest Westside Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson, with the Rev. David Roehrich officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel in Sioux City.

Mr. Kleber was born May 10, 1910, in Cedar County, Neb., the son of Albert A. and Elizabeth (Bender) Kleber. He was raised in Cedar County, where he attended school and graduated from Cedar Catholic High School.

He married Mary Ellen Conley on Feb. 18, 1930, at East Bow Catholic Church in Cedar County. They moved to Jefferson in 1944. He farmed in northeast Nebraska and later near Jefferson. Mrs. Kleber died Jan. 6, 1988.

He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his children, Donna LaFleur of Anthon, Iowa, Janet and her husband, Harold Girard, of Sioux City, Mike Kleber and his wife, Nancy, of Fullerton, Calif., Beth and her husband, Pat Ford, of Sioux City, David Kleber and his wife, Mary, of McCook Lake, S.D., and Dianne and her husband, Bob Raynor, of Savannah, Ga.; a sister and her husband, Gertrude and Frank Dietsch of Fordyce, Neb.; 38 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Roma Callahan; three sons, Eugene and Robert and Joseph in infancy; a grandchild, Toby LaFleur; a great-grandchild, Joannah Morris; and a brother, Albert.
