As a young kitten, Chloë was adopted by her human parents, Drs. Christopher and Elena Stone of New York, New York. She enriched the lives of her parents more than they could have ever imagined. She was not a "pet"; she was part of the family.
Sadly, Chloë developed cancer in late 2014. Nothing was spared in her treatment, but the cancer did not respond. Throughout her illness, Chloë remained the sweetest, most loving companion. One of her doctors described her character as "noble."
Chloë passed away at the Upper East Side home she shared with her father, one week after her 15th birthday. She will be sorely missed.
Chloë Elena Stone is survived by her parents Christopher Stone, M.D., of New York, and Elena Garcia, M.D., of New Jersey; and by her paternal uncle Matthew J. Pascal of Dallas. Chloë's paternal grandmother was the late poet Donna J. Stone, and her paternal grandfather was the late Lucian E. W. Stone.
