She married Carl Edward Bull on May 9th 1948 in Burlington, Vermont.

Ferrisburgh - Ruth Jerger Bull died peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Vergennes Residential Care in Vergennes, VT.

Ruth was born October 26th in Ferrisburgh, VT to Berta and August Jerger and was the eldest of six children.

She spoke German in her home and began learning English when she and her brother started school in a one-room schoolhouse in Ferrisburgh.

She went on to attend Vergennes High School and continued her education at Burlington College.

She married Carl Bull on May 9, 1948 and together they ran a dairy farm and raised a family on Dakin Road in Ferrisburgh.

Ruth loved farming, taking care of animals, and most of all, teaching children.

She was an active member of the North Ferrisburgh United Methodist Church where she was a beloved Sunday school teacher and youth group leader for over 50 years.

Ruth was an avid reader who volunteered at the Bixby Library and later at the Ferrisburgh Elementary School reading to young children.

Predeceased by brother Alfred Jerger and grandsons Brian Mayer and Chad Larson.

Arrangements by the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes.

Interment will be in North Ferrisburgh Cemetery.
