Mrs. Lena M. Wiley
Mrs. Lena M. Wiley, 87, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. H.M. Coon, at Meade, Kan., Monday. She was also the mother of Mrs. W.E. Davis, of Topeka, and had made her home with her two daughters since the death of her husband several years ago.
Mrs. Wiley was born May 24, 1852, in the province of Mecklenburg, Germany. The family moved to America when she was 5, to Cleveland, O., and later to Clarke county, Ia. She was married in 1872 to George W. Wiley and they moved to Meade, Kan., in 1887. Before coming to Topeka in 1910, they lived in Hutchinson nine years. Mrs. Wiley was a member of the Christian church.
Her two daughters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive her.
The body has been brought to the Wall-Diffenderfer mortuary and will lie in state until 11 a.m. Wednesday when funeral services will be held at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Hope abbey.
