Benjamin Rutz, 70-year-old veteran cigar maker and tobacconist, turned the last page of 40 years' of business operation in Belleville this morning when he locked his place of business at 325 East Main Street for the last time and began packing his possessions for a trip west.

Rutz will leave by train tonight for California where he will make his home with a brother who operates a ranch ninety miles east of San Francisco.
