Thomas "Toby" Boning, 82, of Creston, Nebraska, died Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the Countryside Home in Madison, Nebraska.
The funeral service is Wednesday, May 27, 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Leigh, with Rev. Dr. Marsha Jark-Swain officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Creston. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 P_.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M.
Thomas “Toby” Boning was born May 15, 1933, in rural Creston, Nebraska, to Louis and Hulda (Sander) Boning. He grew up near Creston and attended rural country school and graduated from Creston High School. On January 1, 1954, Toby was united in marriage to Shirley Went at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Leigh. Toby lived and farmed his entire life in the Creston area. He enjoyed tractors and old cars and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
