Born Oct. 26, 1920, in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Rosalia Abernathy.
A member of Penelope Baptist Church, she retired from Adams Mills Hosiery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elza Clarence McCray.
Survivors include two sons, Edward E. McCray of Hickory and Gary R. McCray of Davidson; six brothers, Ralph Abernathy and Jerry Abernathy of Connelly Springs, Joe Abernathy and Albert Abernathy of Hickory, Bill Abernathy of Icard and Tommy Abernathy of High Point; a sister, Violet Robinette of Hickory; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey McCray of Alexandria, Va., and Rachel McCray of Davidson.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. John Fariss at 2 p.m. Tuesday at her church.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
