MASSILLON, Ohio - Jerald Dean "J.D." Martin, 57, of Massillon died Sept. 20, 1997, in V.A. Medical Center, Phoenix, after a long illness.
He was a self-employed trucker, a Teamster, an Army veteran and a member of Reynolds Road Baptist Church, Lakeland, Fla.
Surviving: ex-wife and caregiver, with whom he made his home, Nancy Dunkle; sons, Jerry and Jeremiah, both of Massillon; daughters, Ruth Robson of Mount Gilead, Cathy McDonald of Lakewood, Amanda Stawicki of Brunswick; sisters, Donna Francis and Sheila Eads, both of Columbus; brothers, Arnold, James and Theodore Jr., all of Columbus; 11 grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, W.Va., with the Rev. Daniel Legg officiating. Burial with military rites by VFW Post 3110, Oak Hill, will be in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
