Mrs. Ray R. Cordell
Funeral services for Mrs. Ray R. Cordell, who died November 4 in the Tyler hospital, were conducted Saturday afternoon, November 6, at the Middleton Funeral chapel with the Rev. S.L. Hammond in charge.
Anne Madsen, daughter of Christian and Catherine Madsen, was born March 19, 1897, near Marshall and later on moved with her parents to Marshall where she grew to womanhood. After attending the Marshall public school she was employed at the Style Shop until her marriage.
She was married to Ray R. Cordell June 26, 1929. They lived in Minneapolis for sometime and later moved back to Marshall for a short time. At the time of her death her home was in Fargo, North Dakota.
Mrs. Cordell had been visiting friends and relatives in Portland, Oregon, when she became ill. She entered the Tyler hospital July 28 and was there until her death November 4.
Survivors are her husband; her mother, Mrs. Catherine Madsen; five sisters, Mrs. Louise Root, Mrs. Charles Berry and Mrs. Rolland Sherman of Marshall, Mrs. C.W. Noe of Gardena, California, and Mrs. C.M. Christensen of Minneapolis; two brothers, Albert of Watertown and Victor of Marshall.
Other relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Kelly of Mankato; Mrs. Dean Kelly, Mrs. Neil Kelly and Grace Kelly of Sleepy Eye; Ruby and Rachel Anderson of Jamestown, North Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Sisson of Madison; Marilyn Sisson of Milan; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Quesnell and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Quesnell of Clarkfield and O.S. Brandser and Charles McDunn of Fargo.
Burial was in the Marshall cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert S. Musch, Charles E. Healy, Clarence Blair, Irving Friend, E.H. O'Brien and Charles Blanchette.
