Sister Anita Rose Desrosiers, 67, of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, 310 Spring St, Newport, Rhode Island, died yesterday, Tuesday, September 24, 1991, in the University of Massachusetts Hospital, Worcester, Mass., from injuries sustained in a one-car accident earlier this month on Ravine Street in Putnam.

She was born Anita Rose Desrosiers in New Bedford, Mass., daughter of Dieudonne and Malvina (Richard) Desrosiers.

She was formerly known in religious life as Sister Jeanne Renee. Sister Anita Rose entered the order in 1943 and pronounced her final vows at the Provincial House in Putnam August 19, 1947.

She had been a nurses aide at St. Clare's Nursing Home in Newport since 1984. Previously, she taught school in the nursery at Bishop Stang Convent in Fall River, Mass., and later at Holy Ghost Convent in Providence, Rhode Island, Immaculate Conception School in Fitchburg, Mass., St. Joseph's School in Waterbury, Conn., St. Francis School in Fitchburg, Mass., St. Cecilia's School in Leominster, Mass., Assumption School in Chicopee, Mass., St. Brendan's School in New Haven, Conn., and St. Anne's School in Hartford, Conn.

The funeral will be tomorrow, Thursday, September 26, 1991, with a Mass at 2 p.m. in the Daughters of the Holy Spirit Provincial House Chapel, 72 Church St., Putnam. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, September 25, 1991 at the Provincial House Chapel. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam is directing arrangements.
