Ernest Cline Garber, 93, Petersburg, died Nov. 2, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg, where he had resided since Jan. 2, 2001. Born Aug. 27, 1909, in Harrisonburg, Va. He was the son of the late Rev. Peter Isaac and Lillian Frances (Cline) Garber. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Virginia (Dean) Garber, Aug. 5, 1988. He is survived by two sons, Pastor Harold D. Garber and Joseph William Garber, both of Petersburg; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. The Petersburg Volunteer Fire Company conducted Nov. 5, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg. Funeral services were Nov. 6, at the funeral home chapel, with interment in Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg. (11/12) Grant County Press 2002
