EL PASO – (PNS) – The funeral of Christian C. Rippel, 87, who died Saturday evening at Brokaw Hospital at Normal will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vincent Memorial Home and at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. L.M. Hieber Officiating. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery.

An Inquest will be conducted by McLean County Coroner Joseph Hallett.

He was born Sept. 24, 1869, at Camp Point, a son of Charles and Johanna Zeiger Rippel. On March 29, 1894, he married Friederika Luckert. They farmed in Waldo and Gridley Townships. Mrs. Rippel died Jan. 15, 1945. For the past 12 years, Mr. Rippel had made his home with his nephew, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Gottel at El Paso.

Surviving are a brother, William, Secor; two half-brothers, Henry Rippel, Sr., and Ferdinand, Lexington; four half-sisters, Mrs. John Woelfle, Secor; Mrs. Mary Palm, Carlyle; Mrs. Henry Hassebrok, Saybrook; and Mrs. L.H. Knecht, El Paso. Four brothers, three sisters, and a half-sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of El Paso.
