Viola Lydia Kenady went to her eternal resting place on May 15, 2006 at the age of 95 years. She was born August 2, 1910 in Cibolo, Texas to Julius and Alvina Vordenbaum and is preceded in death by her husband, W.L. 'Bill' Kenady; her parents; two sisters, Eleanor Tschoepe and Judy Weyel and one brother, Clarence Vordenbaum. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Cage and husband Reuben; one granddaughter, Sheri Sanderson and husband Fred; two great-grandchildren, Lori and Shelli Sanderson and nieces and nephews and many friends. Mrs. Kenady attended Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, where she received a teaching certificate in 1928. She taught elementary school in New Braunfels for a short while. In 1946, she purchased a flower shop, Viola's Flowers, which she owned until the mid-seventies when she retired. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in New Braunfels, until she moved to Blanco in 2004, where she attended the Blanco United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Zoeller Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends. Visitation will continue until service time Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Zoeller Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Memorials will be gratefully received for the First United Methodist Church, 572 W. San Antonio, St. New Braunfels, Texas 78130. Zoeller Funeral Home.
