STACYVILLE, Iowa -- The funeral for Shirley Ann Keeton will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy, with the Rev. Gary Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery in McIntire, Iowa.

Mrs. Keeton, 71, of Stacyville, Iowa, died Saturday (July 1, 2006) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she had been a patient since June 26.

Shirley Ann Smith was born May 27, 1935, in Fountain. She married Thomas Charles Caswell in June 1954 in Brainerd, Minn., and they were later divorced. She later married Harlan Sorenson in 1971; he died in 1973. On July 26, 1975, she married David Keeton in Fountain. She worked in the health care industry for the majority of her life, working at the hospital in Brainerd; Rochester State Hospital; The Adams Group Home; and nursing homes in Riceville, Iowa, and Stacyville, Iowa. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, ice fishing, racing snowmobiles and crocheting, and she served as a foster parent for more than 20 years.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Tom (Vicki) Caswell of Mason City, Iowa, and Charles (Linda) Caswell of Walhalla, N.D.; a daughter, Cheryl Lea (Robert) Kruse of McIntire, Iowa; and eight siblings, Esther (Clayton) Workman of Florida, Marvin (Gail) Kleve of Oregon, Darrell (Cindy) Kleve of Arkansas, Karol (Shirley) Kleve of Alexandria, Minn., Linda (Sam) Anderson of Stewartville, Donna (Myron Wait) Krull of Dodge Center, and Bill (Juanita) Drury and Tammy (Bernie) Swanson, both of Kasson. She was preceded in death by a son, two grandchildren and two brothers.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
