Services for Sara Barbin Monnin, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Peters Catholic Church, with father Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visiting hours will be observed today from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 8 a.m. Monday until the time of services.

A native of Marksville and a resident of New Iberia, she died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans.

She was retired from the Selective Service System as a clerk for more than 20 years. She was a volunteer for the Iberia Parish Tourist Commission.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda M. Davis and her fiancee Bart Johnson of Henley Field, Ms.; a son, Charles Palmer Monnin and his wife "Roxie" of Jeanerette; a brother, F. Hewitt Barbin of Waco, Texas; four grandchildren, Neeley Harper Berry of Hattiesburg, Ms., Brandi Harper Sullivan of Jackson, Ms., Charles Spencer Monnin of Jeanerette, and Katie Elizabeth Monnin of Jeanerette; and two great grandsons, Derrick Berry and Hayden Berry, both of Hattiesburg, Ms.

She was preceded in death by her father, Forest Bellvue Barbin; her mother Sarah George Barbin; two brothers, Earl Barbin and Helton Barbin; and four sisters, Hilda B. Guillot, Jeanne B. Ashwell, Archie Hebert, and Alva Landry.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia (Trotter Street) is in charge of arrangements.
