Florence I. Kohut, age 91, of Edison died Saturday, July 2, 2011. She was born November 13, 1919 in Newark to the late John and Emma Messner Haas. She was raised in Newark and had resided in Rahway and Toms River and for the past 2 years in Edison.
She is the wife of the late Nicholas Kohut who died March 3, 2008. They had been married 68 years. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Minnie Perry, Emma Kinley and Margaret Korsun, her brother, John Haas and her nephew and godchild, Kris Korsun. Surviving is her sister, Matilda Stone and her husband Harvey of Georgia, niece and caregiver, Christine Korsun of Piscatawy, nieces, Carol Spooner of North Carolina and Diane Kinley of New Jersey, nephew, Gary Stone of Rockaway, great nephews, Scott, Brian, Keith and David Korsun and Jeremy Stone, great niece, Rima Granados and their families, also surviving is her special caregiver, Judy Gaiku and many other nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews.
