Laura M. Voss, died Monday, April 25, 1927, at her home in rural Blue Grass after an illness of a year and a half.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, at the Voss home west of Blue Grass. The Rev. J. A. Miller will officiated at the services. Mrs. Miller sang "Lead Me Kindly Home" and "Nearer My God to Thee". She was accompanied by the Rev. Miller. Flower bearers were Elsie Plett, Ella Soenke, Louisa Brus and Catherine Alt. Pallbearers were Claus Heuer, Charles Alt, George Nugent, George Koll, Fritz Kautz and Hannes Schroeder. Burial was in the Blue Grass Cemetery, Blue Grass, Iowa.

Laura Margaretha Sohsen was born March 15, 1860, in Scott County, the daughter of Johann and Elsabe (Sindt) Sohsen. She married Johannes Voss on November 8, 1888 in Davenport, and together farmed in Scott County, near Blue Grass.

Surviving are her husband, Johannes; two sons, William Voss of New Liberty and John Voss of Stockton; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Belter of Bennett, Mrs. Hugo Schnoor of Davenport and Mrs. Walter Puck of Montpeller; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Chris Bauer of Holstein, Mrs. Herman Thoene of Davenport and Mrs. Louis Pahl of Oneida; and two brothers, Chris and Martin Sohsen, both of Sunbury.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
