The daughter of William Elmer Jones and Roberta Jackson Jones, she married James Ellis Grissett and was the mother of five children: Walter Edgar, Violet B, Roberta L, Margaret Louise and an infant, of which she died giving birth.

Mrs. Florence M. Grissett, wife of James C. Grissett, and a native of Spotsylvania County, died at her home 1366 Emerson Street, N.E., Washington late Saturday afternoon after a long illness. The deceased was a Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E Jones of Wilderness, SPOTSYLVANIA County, and a sister of Mrs. Irvine C Clore, wife of the county treasurer.
In addition to the above she is survived by her husband, one son, Walter Grissett, and three daughters, Violet, Margaret, and Roberta, all of Washington. In addition to Mrs. Clore her sisters are Mrs. Clarence Westcott, of Atlantic City: Mrs. E.M. Grimsley, Mrs. Charlotte Martin, and Mrs. J.E. Jones of Washington. Two brothers also survive her, Preston Jones of Atlantic City, and Alonza F. Jones of Washington.
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon from the Ninth Street Methodist Church, Washington, and the remains will be Brought here tomorrow and taken to the Wilderness where they will be interred in the family burying grounds.
