Ellen May Foreman was b. 11 May 1903 in Linn Co., Iowa a daughter of Clara Icelean Foreman and neighbor Earl C. Andrews. Clara was 16 at the time and Earl Andrews was married with children, so the child Ellen was given up for adoption to Peter and Effie Betzer. When Peter Betzer's wife Effie died, he remarried and moved to Oregon settling in Linn County. Ella May Betzer married 19 Jul 1920 in Linn Co. to Otto Martin Powell who died in 1923 of influenza, leaving Ella with 2 children - Leola Anita and Waunita May Powell.
Ella Powell married again in 1924 to Valentine Everling, then again about 1930 to Raymond Backus. She married 4th to James Herenhofer in 1943 and 5th to Emory Hungerford about 1951. Her final marriage was to John Peter Glantz about 1980.
