Ms. Louie Belle Carter Parks age 109, of Starke passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Windsor Manor. Louie Belle was born on January 31, 1906 in Lawtey to the late Marion D. and Christine (Dohm) Carter and was raised on the family farm. She married in the 1930’s and moved to South Florida where she remained most of her life. She was a homemaker and upon returning to Bradford County about 1960, she volunteered for the local Hospital Auxiliary for many years, enjoyed working at the Strawberry Festival, and worked at the polls. She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church and was friendly to everyone she met. Survivors are: sons: William M “Bill” Parks (Claudia) of Blairsville, GA and George D. “Bud” Parks (Gail) of Roswell, GA, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Funeral services for Ms. Parks will be on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home of Starke. Interment will follow in Dyal Cemetery.
