Marie Elena Stefano, 90, formerly of Taylor St and Vista South passed away the morning of June 2, 2012 at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Born in New Castle on April 5, 1922, Marie was the daughter of the late Ralph and Olympia Brasile Morella. On November 12, 1949 she married Michael James Stefano. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1992.
She was a member of St. Vitus Church and the Christian Mother's of the church. She had worked for fifteen years in the Central Service Department for Jameson Hospital. In earlier years she worked for Columbus Services International. Marie was a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America. She enjoyed bingo and crafts. Marie loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by three children, Michael Joseph Stefano, Sr. and wife Jacque, Ralph S. Stefano and wife Laura, Mary Ann Presnar and husband Larry, all of New Castle; her brother, Ralph Morella, Jr. of New Castle; sister-in-law, Betty Rozzi of New Castle; three grandchildren, Michael Stefano, Jr. and wife Beth, Ralph Stefano, Larissa Stefano and one great-grandchild, Nicole Marie Orelli.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marie is preceded in death by a son, David Stefano, four brothers, Anthony Morella, Frank Morella, Thomas Morella, Albert Morella and three sisters, Josephine Palumbo, Ann Pratt and Antonetta Pratt.
