George Philip Frey was born in St Jacob, IL on Feb 6, 1890, the son of Peter and Catherine Gabelman Frey. He died of pneumonia at 5:30 am Oct 28, 1921 at the family residence, 723 Fairview Ave, Edwardsville. He was 31 yrs, 8 mos and 22 days old. He was a veteran of WWI serving in Germany along the Rhine.
His early education was received in the district school and finished with one year in the Highland School. Since coming to Edwardsville he was employed as a molder at the plant of the U. S. Radiator Corp.
At the time of his death he was survived by his mother, Mrs. Katherine Frey, five sisters and three brothers; Mrs Carrie Adelhardt, Mrs Alice Spengel, Miss Linda Frey, Mrs Ida Keck, Mrs Kate Carter, Edward H Frey, and Walter J Frey. The funeral was conducted at the St Jacob Evangelical church with the Rev Hildebrandt officiating. Burial was in the Keystone Cemetery.
