Carmen Frances Peklewsky was born at Fort Benton, Montana on December 12, 1916, daughter of Peter and Amelia (Haberman) Thelen. She grew up in Great Falls where she lived until moving to her daughter's home at Cascade. Carmen attended Ursuline Academy during her elementary education, Great Falls High School and then the Commercial College in Great Falls.
She married Ralph Peklewsky on December 3, 1934 at St. Ann's Cathedral, and they were together for 62 years until his death 10 years ago.
During World War II, Carmen worked as a sales lady at Strain Brothers, Sears, and the Paris. She then worked as a bookkeeper at Murphy Maclay Hardware for 11 years. She retired to enjoy her grandchildren.
Carmen is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Frank Jurich of Cascade, MT, seven grandchildren Danny (Ramona) Jurich of Vaughn, Donald (Andi) Jurich of Enumclaw, WA, Kathleen Jurich of Great Falls, Jeremy Jurich, and Jeanne (Rick) Strizich, all of Great Falls, Diane (Paul) Heikkila of Belt, Julie Dale of West Linn, OR, a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and John McMillen of Wichita, KS, three sisters-in-law; Mae Thelen of Great Falls, Elizabeth Haffner of Lewistown, MT, and Emma Hall of Federal Way, WA; 21 great grandchildren; and, seven great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Peklewsky; parents Peter and Amelia Thelen; and a brother, Jack J. Thelen.
Burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
