Ruby Adria Stoakes was born August 9, 1894 at Bradgate, Iowa, and departed this life July 16, 1948 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She came to Albion with her parents in 1907 at the age of 13 years. She graduated from Albion high school and taught in Boone county schools before her marriage to Roy M. Williamson, November 24, 1914. To this union were born three children, one daughter and two sons. The Williamsons made their home on a farm near Albion, where Mr. Williamson preceded her in death July 1933. Mrs. Williamson moved with her children to Albion in the fall of 1941 where the family resided until March 1948 when they moved to Lincoln.
Mrs. Williamson was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist church at Petersburg.
She leaves as survivors her three children, Margaret and Duane Williamson of Lincoln and Emroy of Pittsburg, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Maxwell, Lincoln; Mrs. James Manka, Mabton, Wash.; and Mrs. J. V. Cook, Albion; and four brothers, Ralph Stoakes, Sioux City, Iowa; Howard Stoakes, Humboldt, Ia.; Roger Stoakes, Primrose and Lee C. Stoakes, Anamosa, Ia.
Services were held at the Baptist church, Albion, on Tuesday July 20th at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. L. O. Barnes, Genoa was assisted by Rev. Nixon Knight, of Albion. Interment was in the family lot at Rosehill cemetery.
