Mr Deike was born Feb 16 1916 to August and Wanda (Schier) Deike. He lived his entire life in the Mankato area. He served in the US Navy during World War II and he was married Sep 22 1942 in Mankato to Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Hartley of Mankato. Mr Deike was the founder and president of Deike Trux based in the August Deike Transfer Co. He was a member of VFW Post 950.
He is survived by his wife Betty, North Mankato; two sons, James and Thomas, both of Mankato; a sister Evelyn Mikkelson of Mankato; a daughter-in-law Christine R Deike of Mankato; and three granddaughters. Anne, Christine, Elizabeth and Amy Deike all of Mankato.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr and Mrs August Deike Jr, and one brother Billy.
