Burial rites were held at the Pfeffer Funeral home here Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and at Niles Community Presbyterian church in Manitowoc County at 2:15 o’clock for Mrs. Ansel Wagner. Burial was in Hillside cemetery here. The Rev. Wesley Schuiterin, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian church here and Community Presbyterian church officiated.

Mrs. Wagner died Saturday Oct. 9, at 11:15 p.m. at Holy Family hospital, Manitowoc, after an illness of two weeks. Death came to her a week short of the 90th birthday.

Mrs. Wagner was born October 17, 1858, in Holstein, Germany, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lau. The family immigrated to this country and her marriage to Mr. Wagner took place at the Lau homestead at Hayton, Nov. 19, 1878. She and her husband celebrated their golden wedding Nov. 19, 1928. Her husband died in 1934. For several years she made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sy at Kiel.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. John T. Boll of Hayton, Mrs. Fred Sy, and Otto Wagner, Chilton; 12 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Three sons, two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
Six of Mrs. Wagner’s grandchildren were pallbearers.
