J.C. Simon, 80, of Lambert, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford of heart failure.

Services were Thursday at 2 p.m. at Blue Lake Baptist Church in Lambert. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Garden in Batesville. Rev. Jess Chadwick and Rev. Paul Blanchard officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Simon, born Oct. 15, 1923, was a retired mechanic and a member of Blue Lake Baptist Church. He was also a WWII U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include a daughter Kathy Simon Gibson of Lambert; two brothers, Paul Simon of Clarksdale and Edward Simon of Linton, Ind.; one sister Margie Shields of Clarksdale; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jimmie Terry Simon. All memorials may be made to Blue Lake Baptist Church.
