DeBAIE, Maurice Manuel - 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Little Harbour, Wednesday, January 28, 2004. He loved music and enjoyed the Jamborees during the summer. Over the years he worked with the Department of Highways and become Highway Foreman. He also worked at Swims Fisheries and Jack's Lobster Pound. At the time of his retirement he was a maintenance worker at Clam Harbour Beach. Born in DeBay's Cove, he was the last surviving son of the late Albert and Emma (Long) DeBaie. He is survived his loving wife of 53 years, Francis (Stevens); son, Barry (Wanda), Little Harbour; daughter, Beverly (Roger) Hilchie, Little Harbour; Paulette (Jamie) Reid, Dartmouth; Joan (Doug) Siteman, Lake Charlotte; Joanne (Tony) Rice, Ottawa; sisters, Elsie Powell, Ship Harbour; Maurien Russell, Clam Harbour; Nanette Keating, Mount Uniacke; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Mike; sister, Mabel; brothers, Douglas, Fred, Nelson and Ambrose. Funeral service will be held in St. Philip Neri Church, Musquodoboit Harbour, on Saturday, January 31, at 1 p.m., Rev. Ronald Pete officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anne Cemetery, DeBay Cove. There will be no visitation by request. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Anne Cemetery Fund, RR1, Lake Charlotte NS, B0J 1Y0, or Twin Oaks Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour.
