DEATH CLAIMS MRS. WAHL, 71
Mrs. Barbara Wahl, 71, of 475 Rockingham St., for years active in Catholic church circles, died yesterday (Mar. 19, 1944) after several weeks illness.
Mrs. Wahl was the mother of Lieut. Robert J. Wahl, a former member of The Democrat and Chronicle classified advertising sales staff; the Rev. Raymond J. Wahl, assistant pastor of Holy Family Church, and Sister Martina Marie Wahl of the Order of St. Joseph. Robert J. Wahl, who left here to become classified advertising manager of the Ithaca Journal, is now serving with the Army Air Forces in England.
Mrs. Wahl was a past president of the Ladies Auxilliary of the Knights of St. John and belonged to the Sacred Heart and Rosary Societies and Little Flower Guild of St. Boniface Church, as well as being a member of the St. Monica Society.
Surviving her, besides her two sons and the daughter, are two other sons, M. Martin Wahl and Herbert P. Wahl; three other daughters, Mrs. Ralph Stellwagen, Marcella M. and Alma C. Wahl; a sister, Mrs. Philip Kreckel, and nine grandchildren.
Last rites will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a. m. in her home and at 10 in St. Boniface Church. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre.
