Mary E. “Becky” Higgins, 87, of Loves Park was called home Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015. Born May 27, 1928, in Williford, AK, the daughter of Roscoe F. and Goldie J. (Wilson) Eldridge. Married John R. Higgins. Member of Rockford First and Loves Park VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved attending her granddaughter's sporting events and family functions. Mary enjoyed gardening, yardwork, traveling and church activities. “Becky” was a very special caregiver and was willing to help others in need.

Survivors include her children, Shirley “Jody” Wendtland of Beloit, WI, Jake (Connie) Patten of Rockford and Betty Patten of Loves Park; four grandchildren, Roscoe (Tracie) Lucas, Monica (Clarence) Hack, Mary Joan Patten and Jimmy Ray; five great-grandchildren, Kevin Kolberg, Ju-Leah Wendtland, Austin Lucas, C.J. Hack and Nick Hack; two brothers; one sister; numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband; one son; and a son-in-law.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Provena St. Anne Center.

Service at noon Saturday, Aug. 15, in Rockford First, 5950 Spring Creek Road, Rockford, IL.

Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL.
