Funeral service for Hugo Carl Marquardt were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Chapin Congregational Church, with Rev. H. H. Wintermeyer officiating. Burial was made in the Marion Center Cemtery. Mr. Marquardt passed away at his home on December 13th.
He was born in Koenigsberg, Germany, on September 28, 1879. He was married to Helen Hillaner in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1903, and she passed away in November 1922.
He is survived by three daughters and one son, thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He has three sisters who are still living in Germany,
He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons.
The surviving children are Olga Marquardt, of Chapin, Otto Marquardt, of Zumbrota, Minnesota, Mrs. Else Dannen, of Chapin, and Mrs. Everett Blesel, of Zumbrota, Minnesota.
