Carol was born on June 16, 1917 in Berwyn, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Bertha Schultze, and the second eldest of seven children. She was raised in St. Charles, IL and graduated from Geneva High School. As a yound woman she was employed as a secretary at the Chicago Surface Lines. She married Warren L. Teichler in 1948 in Elmhurst, IL and was happily married for fifty-three years. They spent nearly fifty years in South Holland, IL, where they raised their two sons, Richard and Steven. Shortly after Warrens death in 2001, she moved to the state of Washington to be closer to her family and granddaughter.

Her and Warren were both active members of the Federated Church of Harvey, IL and long standing volunteers and members of the Ingalls Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Throughout her life, she enjoyed baking, needlepoint, collectibles and staying in touch with friends and family. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
