Cecil D. Williams, 87, of Liberty Hill, Texas, passed on Friday, October 2, 2009, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

He was born on September 5, 1922 in Mahomet, Texas, to Tina Williams and Hansford Williams. Cecil has lived in Liberty Hill for the majority of his life. This is where he raised his family with the love of his life Lucile Marie Whitehead. Cecil and Lucile were married on May 14, 1943 and were married for 66 wonderful years. He was proud of being a veteran having served in the World War II in the U.S. Army. Cecil was a man of the community. He never met a stranger that he couldn't find something to talk about with. He loved life more than anything in the world and he always found time to spend camping, fishing and being with his family. Cecil was a member of Church of Christ in Mahomet.

He was preceded in death by his mother Tina Williams, father Hansford Williams, brothers Johnny Williams, Bill Williams and Gordon Williams, and sisters Emily Shepherd and Alice Faith.

His survivors include, his sister, Naomi Wilkey of Fort Worth, Texas; his loving wife, Lucile Marie (Whitehead) Williams of Liberty Hill, Texas; daughter, France Johns and her husband Irvin of Evant, Texas; sons, Wayne Williams of Liberty Hill, Texas and Elick (Dubby) Williams and his wife Ann of Liberty Hill, Texas; grandchildren; Doug Scissom of Liberty Hill, Texas, Alvin and Tina Johns both of Evant, Texas, Debbie Williams-Dykes and her husband Richard (Ricky) of Liberty Hill, Texas, Kevin Johns and his wife Cody of Evant, Texas and Jamie Hamilton and her husband Gregory of Leander, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Felisha Scissom, Devin Johns, Kelly Johns, Lilly Ann Dykes and Ryland Dykes; one great great-grandchild, Madison Montes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Minister J.W. Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Williams Buck Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Texas.

There will be a reception to follow, but will announce location after services.

Cecil was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
